Intro.

Hi.

I’m Kimberly.

I’m a stay at home mom of two toddlers exactly two years apart and a wife of an extensively traveling husband whom I am extremely proud of and grateful for.

Stay at home mom and a wife.

Once I became those two things I honestly forgot what else to say about myself. I embraced staying at home with my kids but I eventually began to feel like an old part of me was buried under a huge pile of Hot Wheels, dirty diapers and years of sleep deprivation. I realize now that I thought I only had time to be those two things.

So, six months ago I embarked on a health journey. It has made me feel like Kimberly again except a more positive and content version of Kimberly. I’ve been reminded of what it feels like to be confident in my own skin, competitive and goal oriented. After laboring and breastfeeding two gremlins in two years I have also been reminded of what it feels like to have energy. I finally found the motivation to start a blog which has been a long time dream of mine for two reasons.

I have been told I am a good writer and I enjoy doing it. Do you guys remember Xanga? Somewhere in cyberspace there is a Xanga with about 10 years of my teenage heartbreak saga recorded. Until I had kids I also always kept a diary. I love to write. People have often told me that I need to blog.

I would love to inspire and motivate somebody. My vision for The Mostly Healthy Mommy is to document my health journey–the setbacks, the humors and the serious struggle of doing this with two toddlers constantly in tow. I will let you guys know what I do and what works for me so maybe you can try it out -OR- you can find what works for you and run with it. Prioritizing your health is so much more than lunges and calorie counting. I believe it is imperative for women to find outlets, take time to themselves and listen to their bodies. Perhaps one of the most pivotal realizations I’ve had as a mommy is that it’s totally okay to admit I am merely surviving motherhood some days. It’s okay to have days where my kids eat microwaved corn dogs in front of the television if I desperately need a moment to myself. Ultimately, putting as much focus into my own well being as I put into theirs is what is best for all of us. Since seeking out this balance I’ve seen improvements in my marriage and my friendships as well as my parenting. This journey is truly worth celebrating and that’s why I’ve started The Mostly Healthy Mommy.

I”m planning on sharing go-to recipes, workout tricks, motivational experiences and well, anything I see fit. This is a work in progress and I’m educating myself on blogging as I go. If there’s anything you’d like to hear about just email me via the contact page. You  may subscribe to get blog updates via email under my About Me. You can also follow me on Instagram @mostlyhealthymommy. This coming week I will share how I stay motivated to work out at least 5 days a week and my 6 month before and after progress photos.

Kim this is awesome! Sometimes I’m hesitant to follow or seek advice of people on healthy living when they don’t have “my life”. Your Instagram posts and now this blog is really motivating because I know you’re real in all aspects! Thank you so much for doing this!
I can’t wait to see all that you do! ❤️

I’m so happy to hear that Leighann. I have found so much relief in finding other women “in my shoes” too. It feels good to know you aren’t alone!
